POSITION OVERVIEW

The Systems Administrator will plan, coordinate, direct and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and will address daily IT department needs. The Systems Administrator will be a critical thinker who will drive regardless of obstacles, the implementation of IT projects within the organization.  The Systems Administrator will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Systems Administrator will also define and implement IT policies, procedures and best practices.  This position reports to the Sr. Director of I.T.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, networks, servers, PCs, Macs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals and Office Automation equipment
  • Negotiate and find technical experts, administer vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements within all I.T. disciplines
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, and disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision
  • Provide monthly IT reports for Executive Management
  • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities
  • Manage detailed internal and external IT projects
  • Hands on Technical Support Specialist

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and min of 3 years of related work experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC & Mac operating systems
  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards
  • Extensive application support experience
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
  • Proficiency in the following applications:
    • Microsoft Office365, Salesforce.com, Adobe Creative Suite,
    • Windows Server 2008 and 2012, IP/Network Management, Fortinet Routers and Switches, VPN Technology, Network Security, Exchange Server, PBX Phone Systems
